What people are saying about us…
wesome! Awesome! Awesome! Everything rocked, from the freshest ingredients to the busy vibe, and the worth while price. We loved it and will be getting Naked again!
Great Place. Small but very good. This was actually my 1st sushi experience. I WANT MORE! Staff was very pleasant. I will be going back on my next trip to Tahoe and I will be bringing and telling friends. Probably my favorite sushi place ever! Great quality fish! AWESOME sashimi. They have great rolls too and a big varity. The place is tiny and there can be a long wait, but well worth it. This is the only place we'll eat anymore in Tahoe. Who knew mountain sushi was so good. These guys really know how to do it, so nice and friendly and down to make anything you desire. This place was great! Imagine finding fresh fish so far from the ocean. This place was fabulous! Went there the night after I proposed to fiance. The sushi was great, the atmosphere was terrific and the staff was amazing. I plan on coming back every time I am in Tahoe. The Naked Fish has some of the best sushi and sashimi I've ever had. At Lake Tahoe it's not so easy to come across stylish and fresh food but the Naked Fish was outstanding. The first time I had sushi was at the Naked Fish and I loved it. Great service, great food, just overall great place. Don't plan a trip to south lake without making a stop at the Naked Fish! We've had sushi across the country and beyond. Naked Fish Sushi definitely ranks in the top ten! Sushi was fresh, generously portioned, artfully presented and very flavorful (fish and accompanying flavors). Price was reasonable, especially for a resort town. Staff was friendly and attentive. Our party was from London and New Zealand and we have eaten sushi and sashimi in many good japanese restaurants. I have never been to a restaurant with such a large and varied range of sake so this was a real treat as soon as I saw the menu. I went for the Funaguchi Kikusui which is very strong, and served chilled in a small can. It was fantastic. The food didn't disappoint either, professionally presented sashimi and well made sushi which was as delicious as it was attractive. The place is constantly busy (for good reason). I can't wait to go there next time I'm in Tahoe! Small restaurant with superb sushi creations - far from normal. A must to go! This is an outstanding Japanese restaurant. Be warned this is a very popular restaurant, and unless you get there when they open, you will have to wait for a table. The quality of the sushi was probably better than we had in Japan, and the staff could not have been friendlier. It is by far our favorite restaurant in the Tahoe area. The fish is fresh and the service is amazing, our son is 4 now and they cater to children, with dishes like mac and cheese. We crave their b-b-q albacore. That appetizer is great! Get there early- there will be a line there waiting to get in- Its worth it!! |
The Naked Fish in South Lake is the best sushi bar in Tahoe. I can never understand a word the Japanese chefs are saying to me, but I'm not paying much attention; the warm-butter-soft hamachi nigiri (yellowtail) has made my toes curl again. Before you open the menu, read the "specials" board above the sushi bar -- this is the really fresh stuff, such as the deftly shelled live octopus sashimi. In the spirit of an authentic sushi bar, the chefs are friendly and talkative. Wimps can order cooked dinners such as sesame-crusted ahi and teriyaki chicken, but it's the flavorful rolls, tender cuts of nigiri, and festive bar that sushi hounds will appreciate.
Sat at the bar. Friendly chef. Fast service. Great, fresh sushi. Cold beer. Small place, worth the wait. Prepare to wait during prime times but the sushi cannot be beat anywhere! "Maui Wowi" is a must have specialty. A must eat restaurant in South Lake. Love this place! The tea is ethnic and the food is amazing. Try the island with the macadamia nuts- amazing. Staff is friendly too! Great sushi, great service. Loved the sake in a box. Delicious sauteed scallops and mushroom appetizer. Homemade key lime pie was great too. Worth the wait. Awesome sushi and appetizers. This is the place to come for great sushi and have a great time while eating it! Naked Fish has REALLY good sushi. Always fresh, and very delicious. Seriously. anything you order will top the last thing you ordered. SO GOOD. I have been to sushi restaurants all over the country, and this is still my favorite. I will definitely go again the next time I visit South Lake Tahoe. Until then I will continue my search for something equivalent. Easily some of the best sushi I've ever had. I would come to back to Tahoe just to eat here. EXCELLENT sushi. Great staff that compliment the energy of the restaurant nicely. The BBQ Albacore appetizer is one of the most incredible things I have ever eaten... and I love food. This is one of my favorite places to eat in Tahoe. Hopefully they expand soon! Incredible energy, don't come here if you want to have a crabby evening. Very fun atmosphere and incredible sushi to match. Great interaction from the staff. Enjoy yourself! The Naked Fish is NOW MY FAVORITE! I must come here every time i am in tahoe!!! The service here is fantastic as well--everyone is friendly and engaging!!! I highly recommend! Awesome Sushi, and a fun place to spend time with others ! Just like any other joint at the top of their game, you will wait for seating at prime time ! |
